Virtual Reality Lab

Virtual Reality Lab

As a leading initiative within fuseproject, Gaël partnered with Guy Noren, Senior Interaction Designer at fuseproject to start a Virtual Reality lab.

In the last six months, what started out as a side project is now a key part for fuseproject’s internal design process.

The Virtual Reality tool made by Gaël enables the industrial team in the fuseproject office to prototype large scale projects in only a few hours. It’s a massive step forward for fuseproject, as they were occasionally required to build real scale mockups that required weeks of work.

In addition, the Virtual Reality lab has been used for design review with clients, enabling fast feedback, faster decisions, and more precise design iteration.

Gaël and Guy’s Virtual Reality goals for 2018 are ambitious —they plan to prioritize Virtual Reality design projects from more traditional interaction design. In the meantime, Gaël and Guy have been learning Virtual Reality mediums and attending conferences such as the Oculus Conference 4, hosted by Facebook and Oculus in San Jose last October, to build their approach and business model as a design studio.

In fact, fuseproject is now in an interesting position as the Virtual Reality market is currently focused on gaming. Thus, fuseproject can now lead what the future of Design looks like in Virtual Reality in other, unexplored fields. Gaël is on a mission to propel fuseproject to the next digital medium and will be a key part of the development of Virtual Reality business for fuseproject in the upcoming years.
